13 Jul 2019 Other than Veterans Day, Columbus Day, and Good Friday, the NYSE and Nasdaq exchanges follow the federal government's holiday schedule  NYSE holidays are the same as the NASDAQ holidays. The market closes on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day (Washington's Birthday) 

The stock market is open on Veterans Day, a 2019 federal holiday, during regular trading hours. However, the bond market will be closed on Veterans Day, November 11. The SIMFA market, or the bond market, will also be closed on Veterans Day. Unlike the NASDAQ and NYSE, the bond market recognizes the Veterans Day holiday and will be closed on Monday. There are a total of nine stock market holidays. There are also three additional days in which the exchanges open as normal but closes 3 hours early on the day before or the day following a holiday. These three days are the day before the 4th of July, the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday), and Christmas Eve. Stock markets will remain open on Veterans Day. Although typically following a holiday schedule, the stock market makes an exception for Veterans Day and Columbus Day. All Motor Vehicle Commission Veterans Day occurs on Nov. 11 — a Sunday this year — which means that the federal holiday is being observed on Monday, Nov. 12. Major banks, the U.S. Postal Service and certain businesses will be closed Monday. The next market holiday on the horizon is in just a couple of weeks, when Thanksgiving Day rolls around on Nov. 22. The following are the stock market holidays in 2020 when the NYSE, Nasdaq and bond markets are all fully closed: Wednesday, Jan. 1 — New Year's Day Monday, Jan. 20 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day
